On October 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada–the final Monster Energy Supercross race of the year kicked off and it was surely one that we will remember for years to come. Up until this night, there has only been two racers to win the million–Ryan Villopoto in 2011, and Marvin Musquin in 2017. But on this night, the crown would not only go to Eli Tomac for a second time in his career, but he would also be taking home the “Monster Million”. We were also able to see the championship crowning of two amateur all-star racers named Jo Shimoda (250cc class), and Max Vohland (Supermini) on this night. The action from both amateur classes was just as exciting, as we saw many young riders step up to the plate. Here’s the official results from the 2018 Monster Energy Cup.

KTM Orange Brigade’s Max Vohland was the one to beat in the Supermini class. He clocked in the fastest time in qualifying, and won both of the moto’s in the night program. NOTE: After the first race, Max’s team had to do a complete motor swap before the second moto due to a coolant leak.

AMSOIL Honda’s Jo Shimoda is always one to keep an eye on. Moto one went smooth for the young racer, but moto two– wasn’t as easy. He ended up with a mid pack start, and was forced to work his way up. The 250cc rider went 1-3 for the overall win.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac had an absolute perfect night in Las Vegas. Although–his new teammate Joey Savatgy did give him a tough time on the track while battling for first, he still did what he had to do to take the 1-1-1 overall win. NOTE: Joey Savatgy pulled over on the last lap to give Tomac the perfect score.
